At Hight Veterinary Hospital, we use Sevoflurane gas as our anesthesia. It is the safest on the market today and we use it with confidence. We use a ventilator to ensure adequate ventilation. Blood/Oxygen percentage (Pulse-Oximeter), heart rate, breathing rate, temperature, blood pressure, ECG and Carbon Dioxide are all established and monitored by a trained staff member on surgical patients.
Spay/Neuter
For those not intending to use their pets for breeding purposes, we highly recommend that you spay or neuter your pet. We offer these routine surgeries on Thursday and Friday of each week. The best age for these procedures is between 5-6 months of age but there are exceptions due to breed and breed characteristics. Dr. Hight is happy to help you determine the right time to spay or neuter your pet.
Dental/Oral
A proper dental cleaning cannot be done while your pet is awake. Dental cleanings and polishing are done on an out-patient basis under general anesthesia. Good dental hygiene plays an important part in your pet’s overall health. We are also able to extract retained baby teeth, extract fractured teeth and perform necessary oral surgery.
