Surgery and Dental Services

At Hight Veterinary Hospital, PA we use Sevoflurane gas as our anesthesia. It is the safest on the market today and we use it with confidence. We use a ventilator to ensure adequate ventilation. Blood/Oxygen percentage (Pulse-Oximeter), heart rate, breathing rate, temperature, blood pressure, ECG and Carbon Dioxide are all established and monitored by a trained staff member on surgical patients.

Spay/Neuter

For those not intending to use their pets for breeding purposes, we highly recommend that you spay or neuter your pet. We offer these routine surgeries each weekday. The best age for these procedures is between 5-6 months of age.

Dental/Oral

A proper dental cleaning can not be done while your pet is awake. Dental cleanings and polishing are done on an out-patient basis under general anesthesia. Good dental hygiene plays an important part in your pet's overall health. We are also able to extract retained baby teeth, extract fractured teeth and perform necessary oral surgery.

Soft Tissue

Types of soft tissue surgeries we offer include:

  • Lumps or mass removals
  • Lacerations
  • Eyelid surgeries
  • Urinary stone removal
  • Intestinal exploratory surgeries

Orthopedic

We offer:

  • Cruciate (ACL) repair
  • Patella repair
  • Repair of broken legs via splinting, pinning or external fixators

Front Declaw

We perform front declaws on kittens five months or older.  This surgery requires a two night minimum stay in the hospital.
